SAIL is an advice and information service provided exclusively for seafarers and their dependants. SAIL has been helping working and former merchant seafarers and fishermen since 1996
The Seafarers’ Advice and Information Line (SAIL) offers free, confidential and impartial advice and information to working and former UK-based merchant seafarers, fishermen and their dependants. It is run by Greenwich Citizens’ Advice Bureau on behalf of the Seamen’s Hospital Society and has been helping seafarers since 1996.
The advisers at SAIL understand the difficulties often faced by people who work at sea and those they leave onshore. They can provide practical help and support in a number of ways.
The team includes a specialist Money Adviser who works with seafarers, their families and dependants to help them manage any money problems, and trains others to provide similar support.
Contact SAIL for advice and information on:
• Debt and other money issues
• Welfare benefits, tax credits, pensions
• Employment
• Housing
• Consumer and legal issues
