Welcome to the Home page of the Seamen's Hospital Society
We are a charity helping people currently employed in or retired from the Merchant Navy, fishing fleets, and their dependants. Established in 1821 and incorporated by Act of Parliament in 1833, we aim to help the Merchant Navy and fishing communities by supporting:
- Individuals in need by providing hardship grants
- Other organisations who assist seafarers
- The Seafarers' Advice & Information Line (formerly Seafarers' Benefits Advice Line) a national telephone advice line for seafarers
- The Dreadnought Medical Service at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
