Individuals in Need
Last year the Seamen’s Hospital Society gave £117,000 to individual seafarers and their families.
Help is provided for all sorts of requests, such as:
- medical items - wheelchairs, riser recliner chairs, stair lifts, installation of disabled access
- travel and accommodation costs when attending the Dreadnought Medical Service
- household items- cookers, washing machines, beds, decorating costs
- holidays - convalescent and respite breaks
- clothing
- priority bills
- funeral expenses
In order to qualify for help, you must be a working or former merchant seafarer or fisherman – or a dependant – with long service or with intended long service which was cut short due to accident or illness. For more information, please contact us:
